THE FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC EDE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

Yesterday, we took it upon ourselves as alumni of the prestigious Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State to commission the historic erection of fence around the female hall of residence at the permanent site of the school (pictures below).

This is borne out of our dedication and commitment towards the development of our school. While we owe whatever we may have become to God Almighty, the author and finisher of everyone’s fate – we have also seen reasons contributions to the development of our school should not be handled with levity.

The commissioning paparazzi witnessed the presence of many eminent personalities (every one of us is imminent, though).

The Governing Council was duly represented by Prof. Nasiru Musa Yauri (Chairman), Prof (Mrs) Jamila Nasir, Prof Edwin Alumanah, Dr O. O. Amalaha, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan, Alhaji Salisu Funtua, among others.

The management team was ably represented by Dr. Adekolawale John T (aka Edaogboogun) – Rector, Dr (Mrs) C. O. Adewusi (Deputy Rector), Dr. Olaitan Adeleke (Council Affairs Officer), Dr. Ulabor Abiodun Ehimen (Deputy Dean of Students Affairs), Dr. Morakinyo (HOD -Architectural Technology Department), Dr (Mrs) Adepoju (HOD-Computer Engineering), Mr. Shola Lawal (Polytechnic PRO), Mrs. Ese Adeyemo (Alumni Liaison Officer) among others.

Whilst the Alumni National body was duly represented by Shittu Bashir Olaleye (President), Samson Ogundipe (Vice President), Bldr. Buari Abiodun (PRO), Sheriff Salaudeen (Financial Secretary), Taiwo Odebode (Auditor I), Obasanjo Tiramiyu (Treasurer), Olumide Akande (AGS), Samson Okunola (Auditor II) and a host of other alumni members working within the Polytechnic community.

It’s imperative to note that our halls of residence need fences to enable more the security and safety of our students, and we have assisted that, in our own little capacity.

While security reports from many other higher institutions of learning have told us how harmful/ dangerous a fenceless hall of residence can be, we have seen reasons to investing in that remarkable project and save our students from evils of been attacked by an agent of violence and brutality.

It’s no doubt that this fence construction serves the importance of securing more the state of the hall of residence (Hostel) and lend the people working therein the levelled playground to exercise their duties with less risk.

At this point in time, it’s quite necessary that we mention our desire to replicate this magnificent project for residents of male halls.

It’s imperative to note that the most developed institutions of the world are reported to have always earned the support of their past students, and here we are witnessing systemically the replica of that.

Whilst our contributions so far have to be commended a bit – simply because we have seen reasons for bringing something out of nothing.

These amongst other achievements should ginger our well to do alumni within and beyond the country to support the NEC more in assisting on the progress of our school.

Funnily enough, it is the dues paid by graduating students and little supports from passionate members that assist us fundamentally and successfully on these projects. The reason we have to persuade our fellow noble alumni to come, participate via annual dues payment and assist more in the development of their school, our school.

The commissioning event was rounded-off with light refreshment at the Hospitality department while members of the Governing Council and Management Executives went home with customized corporate gift items presented by Alumni President, Mr Shittu Bashir Olaleye.

With focus and pragmatism, enough and sufficient solidarity from all and sundry, many more outstanding projects would continue to be commissioned. We would have cause to say, this is our school, we are proud.
